Our work

Schemes you can
walk on today

Public realm, highways and commercial schemes delivered in live town and city centres across the North West. Our work is measured by how the stone looks after a few winters of footfall, not on the day we hand it over.

Cathedral Quarter

Civils and specialist granite paving

Our first contract as a company, awarded in 2014 for four weeks of work. It ran for two years and covered the civils and the specialist paving in granite materials. It is the job that built Foster Civil Engineering into what it is today.

Bolton

Town Centre Streetscape

Paving, kerbing and footway construction

Pedestrian streets rebuilt in natural stone with new kerb lines, drainage falls and access crossings, phased so that shops and businesses stayed open and reachable throughout the works.

Blackpool

Seafront Public Realm

Large format paving and hard landscaping

Large format paving, edgings and hard landscaping in an exposed coastal setting, where levels, drainage and bedding detail have to stand up to weather that finds every weak joint.

Foster operative building a coursed stone retaining wall alongside a stream

North West

Watercourse Retaining Works

Retaining structures, stone facing and drainage

Reinforced retaining structures built alongside a live watercourse, faced in coursed natural stone and tied into new surface water drainage. Working over water means restricted access, hand laid stone and a build sequence that keeps the channel clear at every stage.
